Yesterday we left Luklu, where we had landed in the most dangerous airport in the world.
Down the steps all the way and walked 10 km 4 hours away from the first camp.
The weather was nice and the sky was clear. The mountains are incredible here. Lots of bridges and a mountain river, spiraling between the huge canyons. By the end of the day I almost didn't feel tired or height sick.
It was day 2 of our Himalayan trek. We were going upwards the entire day. There were lots of steps and rocks. The hike is getting harder and harder, especially with a 15-kg backpack. I'm carrying all my stuff, except for 3 kg, which I gave to one of the Sherpas.
The first symptoms of the height sickness kicked in. A small headache and fatigue. I just want to sit down and do nothing.
When there's no sun and the nights are really cold. But it's always like that in the mountains.
By the end of the day we climbed to Namche Bazaar at 3, 400 m. It's the city of Sherpas and the capital of the Sagarmatha National Park. A big and heavily populated place.
Tomorrow we will go for a walk and find out more about this place.
Tomorrow is another day and another mountain.
